Inter Miami CF Qualifies for FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ After MLS Supporters’ Shield Victory

Inter Miami CF has officially secured its spot in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup™ following a stellar performance in the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) regular season, where they captured the Supporters’ Shield. The club finished the season with a remarkable 74 points, marking the highest total in MLS history, achieved through 22 wins, eight draws, and only four losses.

As the host country representative, Inter Miami will kick off the tournament at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Captained by FIFA World Cup™ winner Lionel Messi, the Herons have shown exceptional consistency throughout their 34-match campaign, clinching the shield with two games remaining.

The announcement was made by FIFA President Gianni Infantino during a fan and team celebration following Inter Miami’s final regular-season match against the New England Revolution at Chase Stadium. Infantino expressed pride in recognizing Inter Miami's achievements: “We all know how Miami is in love with football and how Inter Miami is supported from across Florida and beyond for your exciting brand of football. Congratulations on your wonderful 2024 Supporters’ Shield success. You have shown that in the United States, you are consistently the best club on the field of play.”



Inter Miami’s Managing Owner Jorge Mas commented, “We promised our fans we would build a team capable of competing at the highest level. We’re proud to have reached another milestone for our Club by being among the world’s best teams in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. It’s a monumental occasion for our fans worldwide and our community, as we continue to elevate fútbol in North America.”

Infantino also highlighted the significance of Miami hosting the tournament's opening match, stating, “We are looking forward to you hosting the opening match in Miami on Sunday, 15 June 2025. It’s sure to be a great celebration for global club football as the tournament features the best 32 clubs in the world, providing a new opportunity for clubs, players, coaches, and fans alike to take their stories to the world.”

With Inter Miami's participation confirmed, 31 of the 32 clubs set to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 have been determined. The final spot will be filled by the winner of the 2024 CONMEBOL Libertadores final, scheduled for November 30, 2024, in Buenos Aires.

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 promises to be the most inclusive and merit-based global club competition, featuring elite clubs from Africa, Asia, Central and North America, and Oceania, competing against the powerhouses of Europe and South America.
