  • FC Barcelona secured a resounding 5-1 win over Sevilla, featuring standout performances from Robert Lewandowski and Pablo Torre, as well as a goal from Pedri.
  • Lewandowski's penalty and subsequent goal increased his season tally to 12, while Torre's late goals capped an impressive night, coinciding with Gavi's long-awaited return to the pitch.
  • The victory marks Barcelona's sixth consecutive win against Sevilla and extends their unbeaten run against them to 18 games, reinforcing their position at the top of La Liga ahead of crucial upcoming matches against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

FC Barcelona delivered a stunning performance with a 5-1 victory over Sevilla, showcasing their dominance at the Estadi Olímpic. Two goals each from Robert Lewandowski and Pablo Torre, along with a brilliant strike from Pedri, highlighted an impressive night, especially as Gavi made his long-awaited return to the pitch.

La Liga resumed in style for Barcelona, who maintained their three-point lead at the top of the table, despite Real Madrid's earlier win over Celta. Lewandowski opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 24th minute after Raphinha was brought down by former La Masia player Peque. Once Barcelona found their rhythm, they took complete control of the match.

Pedri's exquisite curled finish doubled the lead following a swift counter-attack led by Lamine Yamal. Shortly after, Lewandowski cleverly redirected what initially appeared to be a wide shot from Raphinha, marking his 12th goal of the season and extending Barcelona's advantage to 3-0 before halftime.

Despite an early bright start from Sevilla, they struggled to mount a comeback. Dodi Lukebakio had a goal disallowed for offside, and although Stanis Idumbo netted a late consolation, it was clear that Sevilla was focused on damage limitation for much of the match.

The second half saw Barcelona continue to press for more goals, but it wasn't until the final minutes that they found the net again. Pablo Torre scored his first in the 82nd minute and then fired a free kick that appeared to touch Iñigo Martinez before crossing the line, although replays confirmed no contact was made.

This commanding win marks Barcelona's sixth consecutive victory over Sevilla and extends their unbeaten streak against the Andalusians to 18 games. With key matches against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on the horizon, Barcelona is hitting their stride at just the right moment.
