Results: Finland 1-3 England

[Results] Finland 1-3 England: Grealish, Alexander-Arnold, and Rice Power Much-Improved Three Lions to Victory!

ENGLAND Clinches 3-1 Victory Over Finland for Their Third Win in the Nations League...

England interim boss Lee Carsley got the perfect response from his players as they cruised to a 3-1 victory over Finland in League B Group 2 of the UEFA Nations League.

Just three days after a disappointing 2-1 home loss to Greece, the Three Lions made Helsinki their playground, with Jack Grealish, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Declan Rice finding the net before Arttu Hoskonen spoiled Dean Henderson's late clean sheet.

After the humbling defeat, Carsley abandoned his striker-less experiment, making six changes, including the return of fit-again captain Harry Kane, to reinforce the squad for the Scandinavian showdown.

Two of the new faces, Angel Gomes and Grealish, combined brilliantly for a well-deserved opener in the first half, as England capitalized on their dominance in possession, looking sharper and more resilient than in their previous outing.

Finland, meanwhile, showed flashes of potential in the final third when they managed to break out of their own half, but they lacked that crucial finishing touch when it mattered most.

Markku Kanerva's men held a pedestrian England at bay early in the second half, but after Fredrik Jensen squandered a golden opportunity to equalize, the visitors cranked up the intensity and were rewarded when Trent Alexander-Arnold smashed in a stunning free kick.

The points were secure when Declan Rice surged forward to show Jensen how to finish from close range, though the ease with which Hoskonen netted a consolation header was a blemish on Carsley's record.

Sunday also marked a historic moment for English football, as the Three Lions extended their unbeaten run against Finland to 13 matches—the most against any single opponent.

With nine points from a possible 12, England temporarily sits level with group leaders Greece ahead of their clash with the Republic of Ireland. Meanwhile, Finland finds itself at the bottom of the table with zero points, heading straight for League C.
